Wonton Soup
Delicate pork-and-shrimp wontons simmered in a fragrant broth with fresh greens. A warm, comforting dish that’s surprisingly easy to make at home.
Ingredients
For the Wontons:
1 pack wonton wrappers (about 40 pieces)
200 g (7 oz) ground pork
100 g (3.5 oz) raw shrimp, peeled, deveined, and finely chopped
2 green onions, finely chopped
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 clove garlic, minced
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp white pepper
For the Broth:
6 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
2 slices fresh ginger
1–2 tbsp soy sauce (to taste)
1 tbsp rice vinegar (optional, for brightness)
Baby bok choy or spinach, halved/trimmed
Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Sesame oil, for drizzling
