Ingredients

  • 1–1.5 lbs (450–680g) Italian sausage links (sweet, mild, or hot)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced

  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced (optional)

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup tomato sauce or crushed tomatoes

  • ½ cup chicken broth (or dry white wine)

  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

  • Optional: fresh basil or parsley for serving
