3 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium preferred)
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional but recommended)
1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (slurry, for thickening if needed)
