Grandma’s Strawberry Cream Delight (Retro Christmas Classic)
Description
A layered dessert that combines a crunchy crust, sweet creamy layer, and fruity strawberry gelatin topping filled with berries. This was a holiday staple for many families in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Ingredients (Serves 12)
Crust
2 cups crushed pretzels (or graham crackers for a softer base)
¾ cup melted unsalted butter
3 tbsp sugar
Cream Layer
8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
8 oz (225 g) whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
Strawberry Layer
2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
1 pkg (6 oz) strawberry gelatin (Jell-O)
2 cups boiling water
2 cups cold water
