Olive Oil Dip with Warm Bread

Olive Oil Dip with Warm Bread

Description

This is that classic restaurant-style dip: fruity extra-virgin olive oil pooled on a plate with herbs, garlic, and a hint of heat, perfect for tearing off pieces of warm bread and soaking it all up. It’s simple, elegant, and takes just a couple of minutes to make, but feels special every time.

Ingredients

For the dip:

  • ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1–2 cloves garlic, very finely minced or grated

  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning

  • ½ teaspoon dried basil (optional if not in your Italian mix)

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)

  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • 1–2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar or lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

  • 1–2 tablespoons grated Parmesan (optional but very good)

  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (optional, for topping)

For serving:

  • Warm crusty bread (French baguette, ciabatta, or sourdough), sliced
