Instructions
Prep the bread:
Spread butter (or mayo) evenly on one side of each bread slice.
Assemble sandwiches:
Place two slices of bread butter-side down.
Add 2 slices of cheese on each, then top with the remaining bread, butter-side up.
Air fry:
Preheat air fryer to 370°F (190°C) for 3 minutes.
Place sandwiches in the basket (don’t overcrowd).
Air fry for 4–5 minutes, flip, and cook another 3–4 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
Serve:
Let cool for 1 minute before slicing — cheese will be molten hot.
Tips for Next-Level Flavor:
Add thin tomato slices or crispy bacon before cooking.
Mix cheeses (cheddar + mozzarella = extra melty).
Brush the outside with garlic butter for a garlic bread grilled cheese.
