Swedish Apple Cake

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease an 8-inch (20 cm) cake pan or line with parchment.

  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Fold into the wet mixture.

  4. Pour batter into the pan. Arrange apple slices on top.

  5. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for topping, and sprinkle over apples.

  6. Bake 35–45 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature, with optional cream or ice cream.
