Southern Sweet Potato Casserole

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. Boil, peel, and mash the sweet potatoes. Mix with sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.

  3. Spread sweet potato mixture evenly in the baking dish.

  4. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, butter, and pecans for the topping. Sprinkle over the sweet potatoes.

  5. Bake 30–35 minutes until the topping is golden and the casserole is heated through.

  6. Serve warm. Optional: top with mini marshmallows for a sweeter, traditional version.
