Small Batch Hotdog Sauce

Instructions

Combine ingredients

In a medium saucepan, add the raw ground beef, onion, tomato sauce, water, ketchup, and all seasonings. Do not brown the beef first.

Cook slowly

Stir to break up the beef as finely as possible.

Bring to a gentle simmer over medium-low heat.

Simmer

Let it cook uncovered for 45–60 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and the beef is very fine-textured.

Adjust & serve

Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve over hotdogs in buns, or use as a topping for macaroni with shredded cheese.

Freezer tip: Cool completely, portion into freezer bags, and freeze flat for up to 3 months.
