Instructions
-
Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish. -
Cook the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes. -
Prepare the Crescent Base:
Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the bottom and sides of the prepared dish to form a crust.
Press seams together to seal. -
Add the Filling:
In a small bowl, mix ricotta (or cottage cheese), egg, and Parmesan. Spread this mixture over the crust.
Spoon the beef and sauce mixture evenly on top. -
Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top. -
Bake:
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. -
Serve:
Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with a side salad or garlic bread.
Tips
-
Substitute ground turkey or Italian sausage for the beef for a flavor twist.
-
Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra texture and nutrition.
-
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days — reheat in the oven for best results.
