Recipe: Italian Crescent Casserole

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.

  2. Cook the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the pasta sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes.

  3. Prepare the Crescent Base:
Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the bottom and sides of the prepared dish to form a crust.
    Press seams together to seal.

  4. Add the Filling:
In a small bowl, mix ricotta (or cottage cheese), egg, and Parmesan. Spread this mixture over the crust.
Spoon the beef and sauce mixture evenly on top.

  5. Top with Cheese:
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the top.

  6. Bake:
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  7. Serve:
Let cool slightly before slicing. Serve warm with a side salad or garlic bread.

Tips

  • Substitute ground turkey or Italian sausage for the beef for a flavor twist.

  • Add sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or bell peppers for extra texture and nutrition.

  • Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days — reheat in the oven for best results.
