Instructions
Prep pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Cook base: In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for exactly 5 minutes.
Mix in chocolate & marshmallows: Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips and marshmallows until completely melted and smooth.
Flavor & add nuts: Stir in vanilla extract and nuts if using.
Set: Pour mixture into prepared pan, smoothing the top. Let cool completely at room temperature or in the fridge until firm.
Slice & serve: Cut into squares and store in an airtight container.
Tip: Swap half the semisweet chips for peanut butter chips or white chocolate for a fun twist.
