Instructions
Preheat oven:
Set to 375°F (190°C).
Caramelize onions:
In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.
Add onions and cook, stirring often, until soft and golden brown (about 15 minutes).
Add brats:
Nestle bratwursts into the onions.
Pour beer over the top and stir in Dijon mustard.
Season with salt and pepper.
Braise in oven:
Cover and place skillet in the oven.
Bake for 30–40 minutes, flipping brats halfway through, until fully cooked and tender.
Serve:
Spoon onions over the brats and serve hot with your favorite sides or on toasted buns.
Tip: If you like a bit of char, pop the brats under the broiler for 2–3 minutes after braising.
