Old-Fashioned Custard Pie

Instructions

Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Prepare the Filling

In a mixing bowl, whisk eggs until light.

Add sugar and salt, whisk until combined.

Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.

Stir in vanilla extract.

Assemble Pie

Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.

Pour custard mixture into the crust.

Lightly sprinkle nutmeg on top.

Bake

Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

The center should be set but still slightly jiggly.

Cool and Serve

Allow pie to cool completely before slicing.

Serve at room temperature or chilled.
