Mushrooms Growing at the Base of a Shrub – Should You Be Concerned?
It’s not uncommon to suddenly see clusters of mushrooms appearing at the base of a tree or shrub, just like in this picture. This can be surprising, especially if the plant has been there for years without any previous issues.
In most cases, the appearance of these mushrooms means that there is decaying wood or organic matter underground. The fungi feed on this dead material — not on the healthy, living parts of the plant.
