Monterey Sausage Pie

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven: Set to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish.

  2. Cook sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and crumbly. Drain excess fat.

  3. Layer the filling: Spread cooked sausage evenly in the pie dish. Sprinkle both cheeses and green chiles over the sausage.

  4. Make the batter: In a bowl, whisk together milk, flour, eggs, salt, and pepper until smooth.

  5. Assemble: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese.

  6. Bake: Bake for 25–30 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.

  7. Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm for breakfast, brunch, or as a light dinner with salad.

This pie is creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor — a true crowd-pleaser that reheats beautifully.
