In-N-Out Animal Style Fries

Instructions
Cook the fries:

Bake or air fry your French fries until crispy and golden. Keep warm.

Caramelize the onions:

Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat.

Add onions and a pinch of salt, cooking slowly for 15–20 minutes until deep golden brown.

Add a splash of water if onions start to stick.

Make the spread:

In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, vinegar, and sugar until smooth. Set aside.

Assemble the fries:

Lay hot fries on a plate, top with cheese slices so they melt.

Spoon over caramelized onions and drizzle generously with the spread.

Serve immediately:
