Homemade Sweetened Condensed Milk

Instructions:

Combine milk and sugar: In a medium saucepan, add the milk and sugar. Stir to combine.

Heat gently: Place over medium-low heat and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture comes to a gentle simmer.

Reduce: Continue cooking uncovered for 30–40 minutes, stirring often, until the mixture thickens and reduces by about half. Avoid boiling hard to prevent curdling.

Add butter: Stir in the butter until fully melted and smooth.

Flavor: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract if using.

Cool: Let it cool completely—it will thicken further as it cools. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Quick Blender Method (5 Minutes):
If you need it instantly, blend together:

1 cup powdered milk

2/3 cup sugar

1/3 cup boiling water

4 tablespoons melted butter
Blend until smooth. Use immediately or store in the fridge.
