Heaven on Earth Cake, also known as Cherry Angel Trifle

Instructions

Prepare pudding mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the pudding mix, cold milk, and sour cream until smooth. Chill for 5 minutes to thicken.

Layer the dessert

Place half of the cake cubes in the bottom of a 9×13-inch dish.

Spread half of the cherry pie filling over the cake.

Add the rest of the cake cubes.

Pour the pudding mixture evenly over the top.

Top with whipped topping
Spread the whipped topping smoothly over the pudding layer.

Finish with cherries
Spoon the reserved cherry pie filling over the top for a pretty finish.

Chill
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) so the flavors blend together.

Serve
Garnish with almonds or white chocolate shavings if desired. Slice into squares and enjoy!
