Instructions
1. Prep

Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F.

Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Mix Wet Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk melted butter with brown sugar and white sugar until smooth.

Add eggs and vanilla; mix until creamy.
3. Add Dry Ingredients

Combine flour, baking soda, and salt together.

Stir into the wet mixture until just combined (don’t overmix).
4. Add Chocolate

Fold in the chocolate chips.
5. Bake

Spread the dough evenly into the pan.

Bake for 22–28 minutes, depending how gooey you want them.

Less time = gooey

More time = more set

Bars should be golden on top but soft in the center.
6. Cool & Serve

Let cool at least 20 minutes before cutting.

Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if using.

Tips for Extra Gooey Bars

Use melted butter, not softened.
-
Pull them from the oven while the center still jiggles slightly.

Add extra chocolate chips on top before baking.
