Gooey Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 175°C / 350°F.

  • Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Mix Wet Ingredients

  • In a bowl, whisk melted butter with brown sugar and white sugar until smooth.

  • Add eggs and vanilla; mix until creamy.

3. Add Dry Ingredients

  • Combine flour, baking soda, and salt together.

  • Stir into the wet mixture until just combined (don’t overmix).

4. Add Chocolate

  • Fold in the chocolate chips.

5. Bake

  • Spread the dough evenly into the pan.

  • Bake for 22–28 minutes, depending how gooey you want them.

    • Less time = gooey

    • More time = more set

  • Bars should be golden on top but soft in the center.

6. Cool & Serve

  • Let cool at least 20 minutes before cutting.

  • Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if using.

  • Slice and enjoy the gooey magic!


Tips for Extra Gooey Bars

  • Use melted butter, not softened.

  • Pull them from the oven while the center still jiggles slightly.

  • Add extra chocolate chips on top before baking.
