Garlic Chicken Lo Mein

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chicken

    • Toss sliced chicken with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil.

    • Set aside for 10 minutes.

  2. Mix the Sauce

    • Combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin, brown sugar, broth, cornstarch, sesame oil, garlic, and chili flakes.

    • Stir until smooth.

  3. Cook the Noodles

    • Boil noodles until just tender. Drain and set aside.

  4. Stir-Fry the Chicken

    • Heat oil in a large pan or wok.

    • Add chicken and cook until lightly golden and cooked through. Remove from pan.

  5. Cook the Veggies

    • In the same pan, add a little more oil if needed.

    • Add carrots, cabbage/broccoli, and bell pepper.

    • Stir-fry 2–3 minutes until just tender.

  6. Combine Everything

    • Add chicken back in.

    • Add cooked noodles.

    • Pour the sauce over and toss quickly on high heat for 1–2 minutes, until glossy and fully coated.

  7. Finish

    • Add green onions and toss once more.

    • Serve hot.


Tips for Perfect Lo Mein

  • Use high heat for the final toss — it helps the sauce cling.

  • Don’t overcook the noodles or they’ll get mushy.

  • Add mushrooms or snap peas for extra texture.
