Cracker Barrel Meatloaf (Copycat Recipe)

Instructions

1. Sauté the Vegetables

  1. In a skillet, melt butter.

  2. Add diced onion and bell pepper.

  3. Cook 4–5 minutes until softened.

  4. Let cool slightly.


2. Mix the Meatloaf

In a large bowl combine:

  • ground beef

  • sautéed veggies

  • crushed Ritz crackers

  • eggs

  • milk

  • salt, pepper, garlic powder

  • Worcestershire

Mix gently until everything is combined — don’t overmix or it becomes dense.


3. Shape & Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Line a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment.

  3. Shape into a loaf.

  4. Bake for 30 minutes.


4. Add the Glaze

  1. Mix together ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, and optional Worcestershire.

  2. Spread half the glaze on top of the meatloaf.

  3. Continue baking 30–35 more minutes, until cooked through.

  4. Spread remaining glaze over the top the last 5 minutes.

Total bake time: 60–70 minutes.


5. Rest & Serve

Let rest 10 minutes before slicing so it stays juicy.


Serve With

  • Mashed potatoes

  • Green beans

  • Mac & cheese

  • Cornbread

  • Brown gravy


Tips

  • Swap Ritz for saltines if needed.

  • Add ½ cup shredded cheddar for a cheesy version.

  • Add a dash of hot sauce to the glaze for heat.
