Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, and garlic powder.
Cut in butter: Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Add cheese & chives: Stir in cheddar and chives.
Add milk: Pour in the milk and stir just until combined — don’t overmix.
Drop & bake:
Use a spoon to drop mounds of dough (about 1/4 cup each) onto the baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden.
Serve warm: Best enjoyed fresh from the oven with a pat of butter.
