Step 1: Prepare the Brownie Base
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
Prepare brownie batter according to package or recipe.
Pour batter into the springform pan and bake for 20–25 minutes, or until set but slightly underbaked (it will bake more later).
Remove from oven and let cool slightly while preparing cheesecake filling.
Step 2: Make the Cheesecake Layer
Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (163°C).
Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing just until combined.
Mix in vanilla, sour cream, and flour until smooth.
Pour cheesecake batter over the brownie crust. Smooth the top.
Step 3: Bake the Cheesecake
Place the springform pan in a larger pan and add 1 inch of hot water to create a water bath (prevents cracks).
Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
Turn off oven, crack the door, and let cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
Remove, cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Step 4: Add Caramel & Serve
Spread caramel sauce evenly over the top of the chilled cheesecake.
Drizzle extra caramel and sprinkle with sea salt if desired.
Slice and serve chilled.
Optional Toppings: Crushed pecans, whipped cream, or chocolate drizzle for an extra indulgent touch.
