Air Fryer Bread

Instructions:

  1. Activate the yeast (if needed):
If using active dry yeast, mix it with warm water and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. (Skip this step if using instant yeast.)

  2. Make the dough:
In a bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture (or instant yeast), water, and oil. Mix until a rough dough forms.

  3. Knead:
Knead by hand or with a mixer for 8–10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  4. First rise:
Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 45–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.

  5. Shape:
Punch down the dough and shape it into a small loaf or roll that fits your air fryer basket. Place it on parchment paper.

  6. Second rise:
Cover and let rise for another 20–30 minutes, until puffy.

  7. Air fry:
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Air fry for 15–18 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

  8. Cool:
Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Optional Add-Ins:

  • Mix in herbs, cheese, or garlic butter for flavor.

  • Brush the top with melted butter or olive oil before baking for a shiny crust.

Tips:

  • For a crustier loaf, lightly spray water on top before air frying.

  • If your air fryer runs hot, reduce the temperature slightly and check 5 minutes early.

  • Store leftover bread in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze up to 2 months.
