Meatloaf Cheddar Shells Casserole

Description

This casserole takes the classic taste of meatloaf – seasoned ground beef, onions, and a touch of ketchup – and pairs it with creamy, cheesy pasta shells. It’s baked until bubbly and golden, making it the perfect cozy dinner for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

1 lb (450 g) ground beef

1 small onion (finely diced)

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 egg

½ cup breadcrumbs

2 tbsp ketchup (plus extra for topping)

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt & black pepper, to taste

For the Cheddar Shells:

12 oz (340 g) medium pasta shells

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups milk (warm)

2 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ tsp mustard powder (optional, for depth)

Salt & pepper, to taste
