Traditional Rice Pudding

Instructions

  1. Start the Rice
    In a pot, combine rice, water, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil.

  2. Add Milk + Simmer
    Stir in the milk and sugar. Reduce heat to low.

  3. Cook Slowly
    Simmer 35–45 minutes, stirring often so it doesn’t stick.
    It will thicken as the rice absorbs the milk.

  4. Finish
    Stir in vanilla (and cinnamon if using).
    If you like raisins, add them during the last 10 minutes.

  5. Serve
    Enjoy warm, or chill it for a thicker, cold version.
